Please read the FAQ section below to see if it is already answered. If not, please contact us with your question and we would be happy to answer it. We are always here to make sure that you feel informed of and connected to every aspect of your child's Jewish education at the Sam S Bloom Learning Center.

Must I be a member of Ner Tamid Synagogue in order to send my kids to the SSBLC?
Yes. We believe that being a part of the greater community is an integral part of your child's Jewish education, and the key to truly experiencing and understanding what it means to be Jewish. Ner Tamid Synagogue and its religious school, the Sam S Bloom Learning Center, are interconnected and intertwined. We learn together, we pray together, we laugh together, we sing and play together. Come see what makes us different for yourself - your community of learning and spiritual home could be right here.
02
Is there financial aid available for SSBLC students?
Unfortunately, we cannot currently offer financial aid for SSBLC tuition. However, financial aid is available for Synagogue membership. Please do not hesitate to contact us with your concerns - if you feel that your Jewish home is at Ner Tamid, we want to help you to be a part of our growing community.

What's this I hear about a month of free tuition?
First time students, members or not, are invited to enroll at SSBLC for one month of classes absolutely free with no obligation. That is how strongly we believe in our program, and in our community at large.
Is the SSBLC Kosher?
Yes. We want to make sure that everybody at the Sam S Bloom Learning Center is comfortable, and has the opportunity to practice all aspects of Judaism should they wish to. For this reason, we ask that parents send only Kosher milk/ pareve snacks, or any fruit and vegetables with their children. We accept any hechsher - for more information on what hechshers (kosher symbols) look like, please click here. For allergy reasons we ask that parents refrain from sending snacks that contain peanuts to school, and encourage students not to share their snacks. All food provided by the synagogue is kosher.
So, will the school be providing snack?
SSBLC will not be providing snack for students this year. Please remember to send your child to school with a milchick/ pareve kosher snack, or fruits and veggies. If you want to send a sandwich or something home-made to school, please make sure it does not contain any meat. If you want to send snack for the entire class (for a birthday or a Jewish holiday for instance), please make sure that it does not contain any peanuts and that it is kosher milk/ pareve.
